4 DAY SCHOOL at GLENORMISTON COLLEGE

RESIDENTIAL $375 (inc GST)
Includes single motel style accommodation, all meals, morning and afternoon teas and all tuition.

NON RESIDENTIAL $250
Includes lunch and dinner each day, morning and afternoon teas and all tuition.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Residents should arrive at Glenormiston from 3 pm on Sunday 27th of June (dinner from 5:30) and depart after late class on Thursday at 4:30pm. Classes are from 9am to 4:30pm each day. Those wishing to stay an extra night (DBB) can book and pay during the school.

Non residents book in at main hall on Monday 28th of June from 8:15am.

Please ensure early enrolment to secure the class of your choice, and mark second choice as some classes are limited in number.

A list of requirements and room allocation will be sent with receipt and you will be able to contact your tutor prior to the school for consultation if you wish.

SILK PAINTING - tutor - HELEN LANGLEY
This class is suitable for both the first time silk painter and those who wish to polish their skills. We will cover a wide range of techniques used to paint silk, completing both samplers for reference and at least six scarves.

OIL PAINTING - tutor - ERIC TONKIN
Suitable for beginner or advanced student. Eric will teach basic sketching and drawing in addition to oil painting. Students can purchase basic requirements at the school.

WATER COLOURS / SKETCHING - tutor - CHRISTINE SMITH
No previous experience is necessary for this class. A list of requirements will be sent with receipt or students can purchase requirements from Christine.

PORCELAIN DOLL MAKING - tutor - JOY BATEMAN
Students will paint and fire porcelain doll parts and will complete two dolls in the four days, or can make one doll in two days, with two days in another class where available.

PATCHWORK - tutor - MARGARET MCINTOSH
This class offers a variety of patchwork options by hand or machine. Learn the basics of patchwork as you make a simple lap quilt, create a Christmas quilt using a variety of techniques, perfect your appliqué skills making a wall hanging or simply bring along your own project to work on. Consultation with your tutor prior to the school is essential.

TRADITIONAL WOVEN CANE SEATING AND SEAGRASS STOOL TOPS - tutor - JILL HUNTER
This class will teach the art of weaving the traditional chair seats and also seagrass stool top. It will be necessary to consult with the tutor before the school.

DECORATIVE PAINTING - tutor - ARMOUR BEARDSLEY
No experience is necessary for this class. There will be a minimum of requirements with paints being shared to keep costs to a minimum. Items can be purchased from Armour and consultation with her is necessary before the school. Why not decorate a chair, stool, milkcan, etc?

MASSAGE / AROMATHERAPY - tutor - WENDY ASTON
Wendy will teach basic strokes in massage coupled with the use of aromatherapy, enabling the student to use their new found techniques for the relief of tension, headaches, aching limbs, etc. The use of essential oils in everyday living will be shown by practical demonstration- the range is endless.

POTPOURRI OF EMBROIDERY - tutor - BERENICE BLAIN
This is an interesting class covering a wide selection of embroidery, including a crazy patchwork teddy, embroidered blanket, knee rug or hot water bottle cover on blanket material, embroidered cushion or picture, or own choice in consultation with tutor.

HAPPY COAT - tutor - BETH ELFORD
This class will make a simple casual coat that has many options for the maker. Consult with your tutor as to the requirements for your style e.g. a dressing gown, a toweling robe, a casual jacket or even adapt for a child.

MOUNT GAMBIER STONE CARVING - tutor KEVIN FREE
Kevin is offering a class in stone sculpting and students would work on small to medium pieces to produce one major or several smaller pieces in the four days. All materials and tools supplied. Students can discuss their choice prior to the school.

SPINNING & DYEING - tutor - JANET DRAKE & MARIE LUCAS
This class will cover fleece preparation and identification, learning to spin and ply different fibres and dying fleece and spun wool. Spinning wheels can be supplied on request.

CREATIVE MACHINE SEWING - tutor - KATH CAUFIELD
2 NEW PROJECTS!!! 1 "Chenilling" Rekindle the bygone days of Grannies Chenille Bedspread etc. an inexpensive class - recycle old fabrics. Cushions 2 days, Knee rug or a cot cover 4 days. 2 "Festive Father Christmas 2 days, or by popular demand 3 stack and slash quilt, by overlocker or machine 2 days. A detailed list of requirements will be sent with receipt and it will be necessary to contact Kath prior to the school.

FUR BEARS - tutor - BEV PRETLOVE
There will be a choice of Mohair or Synthetic fabric kits in a choice of colours and sizes. Sorry NO outside kits or fur without prior consultation.

BEADING - tutor - COLLEEN LUDBROOK
Learn the art of beading, make a smart beaded aztec necklace (looks great worn over skivvies), or a set of special coasters. It will be necessary to ring Colleen beforehand to discuss your requirements.

WOOL FELTING - tutor - ANNETTE LIZZA
This is a very interesting class using mainly wool and silk and wool tops to make and explore the wonderful process of felt making, e.g.lace scarves, boots of all sizes, bags, hats, vests etc. for beginners or those with some knowledge. One day of dry needle felting included. This can be a two or four day class.
